Wojciech Kossak (1856-1942), painter, son and student of Juliusz Kossak, father of Jerzy. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow, the Munich Academy and the École des Beaux Arts in Paris. Between 1895 and 1902, he stayed mainly in Berlin as a court painter to Emperor William II. He travelled extensively in Europe, to Egypt and the USA. He was co-author of four panoramas: "Racławice", "Berezyna", "Bitwa pod Piramidami" and the unrealised "Somosierra". In 1915, he became a professor of battle studies at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and from 1921 he had a studio at the Bristol Hotel. He painted battle scenes, historical scenes, genre scenes and portraits, mainly with his favourite motif of the horse.

Tadeusz Dominik (1928-2014), painter, graphic artist and long-time teacher. In the years 1946-1951, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, graduating in 1953. From 1951, he worked at his alma mater, initially as the assistant of J. Cybis, from 1965 he ran his own atelier, and in 1979 he became a professor. Twice Dean of the Faculty of Painting, he taught until 1990. Initially practising woodcut, he later concentrated on painting, and also dealt with artistic tapestry, ceramics, video art and, since the mid-1990s, computer graphics. He has participated in many prestigious exhibitions and has been awarded numerous prizes.

Julian Fałat (1853-1929), painter, educator, one of the most outstanding Polish artists of the 19th/20th century, member of Polish and European creative associations, honoured and awarded many times. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow (1868-71 and 1881) and the Munich Academy (1877-80). He travelled extensively in Europe, and in 1885 made a sea voyage around the world. From 1886 to 1895 he was court painter to Emperor William II in Berlin. From 1895, he was the director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, and after its transformation into the Academy of Fine Arts in 1900, the rector until 1910. After his retirement, he settled permanently in Bystry. An excellent watercolourist.

Jan Matejko (1838-1893) between 1851 and 1858, he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow under Wojciech Kornele Stattler and Władysław Łuszczkiewicz, in 1859 he studied at the Academy of Art in Munich in the class of Hermann Anschütz, and in 1860 at the Academy of Art in Vienna in the atelier of Christian Ruben. He lived in Cracow all his life. In 1873 he was appointed director of the School of Fine Arts in . From 1874 he was a foreign member of the Institut de France and the Berlin Academy of Art, from 1878 a member of the Raphael Academy in Urbino, and from 1889. - Künstlergenossenschaft in Vienna. The most outstanding representative of Polish history painting. Matejko's style consisted of creating multiform, crowded compositions in which the action takes place mainly in the foreground. The most important means of expression was the expression of the face with decisive facial expressions and expressive eyes. The artist also strove for an accurate reproduction of costumes, ornaments and weapons, painted with a great flair for colour. In addition to historical paintings, Matejko also created portraits. He painted both his family and well-known public figures. Apart from painting, he was also interested in the conservation of historical monuments and the saving of old buildings in Cracow. Together with Tomasz Pryliński, he took part in the restoration of the Cloth Hall, and between 1889 and 1891 Matejko made a painting decoration of St. Mary's Church in Cracow, where in the chancel he painted angels holding banners with invocations of the Litany of Loretto.

Each work becomes a pillar of human existence, revealing the deeply hidden truth about feelings that are often difficult to express in words.Kimura maintains physical contact with paintings, symbolised by handwritten traces on canvases.

Stanisław Wyspiański (1869-1907) attended St Anne's Gymnasium with Józef Mehoffer, Lucjan Rydel and Stanisław Estreicher, among others. At the turn of 1884 and 1885, and in the years 1887-1895, he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow, mainly under Władysław Łuszczkiewicz and Jan Matejko. In the years 1887-1890 and 1896-1897, he continued his studies at the Faculty of Art History at the Jagiellonian University.Initially, the artist primarily focused on painting. In 1897, he became a member of the Society of Polish Artists "Art," and in 1902, of the Society of Polish Applied Art. Wyspiański's favorite medium was pastel. His work also prominently featured designs for stained glass windows and interior polychrome decorations. From 1890 to 1891, together with Jan Matejko and Józef Mehoffer, he created stained glass and polychrome designs for St. Mary's Church in Cracow. Between 1897 and 1905, he worked on the decoration of the Franciscan Church. Wyspiański’s visual art predominantly featured portraits and landscapes. He also designed interior decorations, furniture, textiles, and architectural projects. He was one of the founders of the program and practice of so-called applied arts in Poland. His style reflects the influence of Jan Matejko as well as the artist’s interest in Impressionism.

Zygmunt Waliszewski (1897 - 1936), painter, one of the most prominent representatives of colourism. He spent his childhood in Georgia, where he took his first painting and drawing lessons. During the First World War he fought in the Russian army. In 1921, he settled in Cracow and took up studies at the School of Fine Arts there; from 1924, he continued his studies in Paris as a member of the Paris Committee. In 1930 he returned to Poland for health reasons. Upon his return, he participated in exhibitions and created the decoration of the plafond in the Kurza Stopka at Wawel Castle. He also designed stage and theatre costumes, posters, book illustrations and caricatures. His works can be found in many museums and private collections.
