Bank Pekao S.A. is the patron of one of the most important publications on money
The book "The Price of Time: The True History of Interest" by Edward Chancellor, a renowned financial historian who provides an accessible explanation of the role of interest rates in the economy and their impact on everyday life, has been published in Poland. Cezary Stypułkowski, CEO of Bank Pekao S.A., provided personal support for the project.
"The Price of Time: The True History of Interest" demonstrates that the price of money shapes not only financial markets but also the decisions of millions of people regarding saving, investing, and taking out loans. As Cezary Stypułkowski, CEO of Bank Pekao, emphasizes, the interest rate is one of the foundations of the economic order and reflects how societies value the future.
"In The Price of Time," Edward Chancellor demonstrates that the interest rate is not a technical parameter of monetary policy or a tool for short-term stabilization. It is the foundation of the economic order. It is a measure of society's patience – a valuation of the future made in the present" says Cezary Stypułkowski, CEO of Bank Pekao S.A.
"The Price of Time" is a book for anyone interested in economics, the history of money, and the mechanisms that influence the modern economy. The book reminds us that behind many economic phenomena lies one fundamental question: what is the price of time?
