Bank Pekao wins three Global Finance Sustainable Finance Awards 2026

Bank Pekao has been honored with three prestigious Global Finance Sustainable Finance Awards 2026, confirming its strong position in the field of sustainable finance in Poland and the Central and Eastern European region.

Bank Pekao received the following titles:

1) Best Bank for Sustainable Infrastructure/Project Finance in Central and Eastern Europe 2026; 2) Best Bank for Transition/Sustainability Linked Loans in Central and Eastern Europe 2026;
3) Best Bank for Sustainable Finance in Poland 2026.

The awards, presented by Global Finance magazine, are the result of a detailed analysis of participant submissions and independent market research. The competition jury assessed, among other factors, management strategies, ESG goals, and measurable achievements in financing environmental and social projects.

"These awards confirm the consistent implementation of Bank Pekao's sustainable finance strategy and our commitment to supporting the transformation of the economy towards a low-emission economy" said Robert Sochacki, Vice President of Bank Pekao, overseeing the Corporate Banking, Markets and Investment Banking Division.

As Global Finance emphasizes, the sustainable finance market continues to grow dynamically, driven by the issuance of green, social, and sustainable bonds, and the value of the global sustainable debt market is now in the trillions of dollars. At the same time, the sector faces challenges related to regulatory fragmentation, data and reporting gaps, the risk of greenwashing, and the need for reliable impact measurement.
