Bank Pekao S.A. improves its ESG ratings, confirming its commitment to sustainable development
Pekao has raised its ratings in three key ESG ratings, strengthening its image as an institution consistently committed to responsible, sustainable, and transparent management.
Pekao's responsible business practices have been recognized by independent rating agencies, as evidenced by improvements in key ESG ratings.
"The improved ESG ratings confirm the effectiveness of our efforts to manage risks and opportunities related to sustainable development. Transparency, responsibility, and attention to the impact of our activities on the environment are the foundations on which we are building the future of banking," says Marcin Gadomski, Vice President of the Management Board of Bank Pekao S.A., responsible for the Risk Division.
Bank Pekao's current ESG ratings are as follows:
• MSCI ESG Rating: Increase from BBB to A
The increase in the MSCI ESG Rating from BBB to A demonstrates significant improvements in sustainability practices and more effective management of environmental, social, and governance aspects.
• FTSE Russell ESG Rating: Increase from 3.1 to 3.6
The increase in the FTSE Russell ESG Rating from 3.1 to 3.6 reflects progress in ESG policies and practices, which allowed Bank Pekao to strengthen its position in the prestigious FTSE4Good index.
• Morningstar Sustainalytics Risk Rating: Improvement from 22.5 to 19.5
For the Morningstar Sustainalytics Risk Rating, the decrease from 22.5 to 19.5 represents a shift from a medium to a low ESG risk level, indicating reduced exposure to ESG risks and improved management of these areas.
