Bank Pekao S.A. supports young women in building future-ready competencies through cooperation with the Girls Future Ready Foundation

Bank Pekao S.A. became a Gold Partner of the prestigious event organized by the Girls Future Ready Foundation, which took place on September 5th at the POLIN Museum in Warsaw. It is the largest conference in Central and Eastern Europe for young women developing skills for the future.

This year's Girls Future Ready Summit brought together over five hundred participants aged 14 to 26, who had the opportunity to meet with leaders and experts from the worlds of business, new technologies, media, education, and innovation. Representatives of Bank Pekao S.A. also actively participated in the event.

Dagmara Wojnar, Vice President of the Management Board of Bank Pekao, spoke during the Girls Finance Ready: Money Talks panel. She emphasized that: "True financial freedom is the ability to say 'no' without fear and 'yes' without guilt. It's the result of conscious decisions and experiences that build our value – both personally and professionally." Addressing the participants, she also emphasized the importance of investing in yourself: "Don't wait for the perfect moment – it's worth starting by building a systematic and solid financial foundation. One of the best decisions we can make at any point in our lives is investing in education. And when we achieve something important, remember to appreciate and reward yourself."

Marzena Mielecka, Director of the Department of Development Management and Organizational Culture, emphasized during the Girls Future Ready: Future-proof me panel that: "The future is unpredictable, but we can prepare for it. New technologies, social changes, and global events are constantly shaping the world in which we live and work. That's why competencies that remain relevant regardless of circumstances are so important today: critical thinking, emotional intelligence, flexibility, and a willingness to pursue lifelong learning." She added that Bank Pekao is an employer committed to developing these competencies: "Pekao is a place where young women develop these skills – they learn from each other, draw from diverse perspectives, and build self-confidence. We believe that investing in the potential of young leaders is an investment in a better future for all of us."

Bank Pekao supports young women

As a Gold Partner, Bank Pekao actively participated in the event program, presenting the "No Sugar" initiative – a platform supporting women in their professional and personal development. As part of the collaboration, a unique financial education workshop for the Foundation's participants took place at the bank's Warsaw headquarters. Pekao experts also shared their knowledge, using, among other things, a "dream map." Young women also had the opportunity to participate in classes on cybersecurity and practical financial education.

Employer Branding in Practice

The partnership with the Girls Future Ready Summit 2025 aligns with Bank Pekao's employer branding strategy, which aims to create conditions for the development of young talent, promote courage and collaboration, and build an open, inclusive work environment. "Bez cukr" (No Sugar) is a program that combines the bank's internal and external activities, and the collaboration with the Girls Future Ready Foundation demonstrates that the values embedded in Pekao's culture are being put into practice. The bank views investing in young women and their potential as an investment in the future of the entire community.

The Girls Future Ready Foundation, founded by Zofia Kierner at the age of 14, has been supporting young Polish women in building self-confidence and courage since its inception. Its programmes have already reached over 90,000 girls across Europe, making it one of the largest educational organisations for young women on the continent.
